Corrections and Retractions

The Journal of JTEB is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. The journal recognizes that errors or concerns may occasionally be identified in published articles and has established procedures for issuing corrections and retractions when necessary.

1. Corrections

A correction may be issued when an error is identified in a published article that affects the accuracy, clarity, or completeness of the publication but does not invalidate its overall findings or conclusions.

Authors, readers, or other relevant parties may notify the editorial office of a suspected error by providing a clear description of the issue and supporting evidence. The editorial team will assess the information and, when necessary, consult the authors and relevant experts before making a decision.

If a correction is warranted, the journal will publish a correction notice describing the error and the corresponding amendment. The correction notice will be linked to the original article, and the online article will be updated where appropriate. The journal will maintain transparency regarding the changes made to the published record.

2. Retractions

A retraction may be considered when the reliability or integrity of a published article is seriously compromised. Grounds for retraction may include, but are not limited to:

Significant errors that invalidate the main findings or conclusions.

Evidence of fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of research data.

Plagiarism or substantial unattributed duplication.

Serious breaches of research ethics or publication ethics.

Unauthorized or fraudulent publication, including serious authorship-related misconduct where relevant.

Other circumstances that substantially undermine the reliability or integrity of the published work.

A retraction may be initiated by the authors, the editor, the publisher, or another party raising credible concerns. The editorial team will investigate the concerns fairly and objectively, provide the authors with an opportunity to respond, and consult appropriate experts or institutions when necessary.

A retraction decision will be based on the available evidence and applicable publication ethics guidelines. Retraction does not automatically imply misconduct by every author; the circumstances and reasons for the decision will be assessed individually.

3. Retraction Notice and Article Identification

When a retraction is approved, the journal will publish a clearly identifiable retraction notice stating the reason for the retraction and identifying the affected article. The notice will include the article title, author names, publication details, and DOI, where available, and will be linked to the original article.

The original article will normally remain accessible to preserve the scholarly record but will be clearly marked as retracted. The retraction notice will be freely accessible where possible, and the journal will ensure that the status of the article is clearly communicated to readers.

4. Editorial Responsibility and Transparency

The Editor-in-Chief, in consultation with the editorial team and relevant experts where appropriate, is responsible for determining whether a correction, retraction, or other editorial action is necessary.

All cases will be handled confidentially during the assessment process, fairly and impartially, and in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies and recognized scholarly publishing guidelines.

The Journal of JTEB is committed to correcting the scholarly record promptly when justified and to ensuring that all editorial decisions are documented and communicated transparently.
