Abstract
The issue of household organic waste in Banjar Begawan, Pedungan Urban Village, South Denpasar District, Denpasar City, remains a challenge in achieving a clean and sustainable environment. A waste management system still dominated by the "collect-transport-dispose" model has led to an increase in the volume of waste sent to landfills and suboptimal utilization of organic waste. This situation prompted the implementation of a Community Service Program (KKN) focused on Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggot cultivation as a solution for organic waste management and a means of community empowerment. The objectives of this activity were to reduce organic waste volume at the source, enhance community knowledge and skills regarding maggot cultivation, and create economic opportunities based on waste management. The implementation method encompassed problem observation and identification, program planning, outreach and training on maggot cultivation, practical organic waste processing, and activity monitoring and evaluation. The program involved the active participation of the local community. Results indicated an improvement in community understanding regarding organic waste sorting and processing, as well as a reduction in the volume of discarded waste. The produced maggots were utilized as alternative feed for livestock and fish, while the cultivation substrate residue (*kasgot*) was used as organic fertilizer for home garden plants. This program not only positively impacted environmental cleanliness but also opened up micro-business opportunities with the potential to improve community welfare.
